Docking Station Does Not Detect External Monitors

If your Windows laptop is working but you cannot get the screens to display on your external monitor, and you have verified that all your cables are tightly connected, you may need to power-cycle your Lenovo or other brand docking station.

This issue often occurs after a power outage.

Rebooting Your Docking Station

Sequence is important when resolving this issue.

  1. Disconnect the laptop from the dock by removing the USB-C/Onelink connector from your laptop.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the dock (circular/rectangular) plug .

  3. Restart the laptop and login to workstation with your Christenson credentials.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the back of the docking station.
  5. Reconnect the laptop USB-C/Onlink connector back into the dock (always do this last)

Once your screen displays on your external monitors, you can close the laptop.
